[DSL] SmartRG SR506N vs SR501 - Bridging vs bypass PPPoE login

I'm looking to switch from Bell (HH3000) to Start VDSL. I use pfSense so I don't need Wifi or router functionality. However, I do like that the Bell device has four ports that allow independent PPPoE logins. I sometimes need to tap in to run tests directly, bypassing my normal network. I have read that the SmartRG devices have a native "bridge" mode, similar to a cable modem. It seems that the SR501 is the appropriate modem for my network. However, if I can do multiple logins via the SR506N's multiple switch ports (without swapping cables/disconnecting - the modem goes in a structured wiring panel), that's something that I would prefer. Is bridge mode the only option with SmartRG, negating multiple logins? What is the best approach?
