For the past month or so I've been getting disconnected frequently while playing games online (Battlefield 1 in particular). I have done all the usual troubleshooting, plus gone so far as to to:
Different computer
Different router
Different NIC on original computer
Direct connect to PC
Even with all these tests, I never drop a packet (unless I am downloading, see below). But, this only happens in the evening, and it never drops all connections (skype continues working, etc).
Problem is, I think there may be a congestion issue in my area. I notice that whenever I try to download anything, while I get full 15 down, or whatever I am, as soon as I come close to "maxing out" my connection, I start to get A LOT of packet loss. so much so, I cannot even websurf.
That had NEVER happened before.
is there a way to verify this? Can start look into this?
Can I open a ticket with Start?
What else is required to investigate? Do you want MTR? Ping is clean and good, unless downloading.
Postal code, if it helps, is L5N 1Z2
