Hey folks,
I help care for my wife's disabled and aging aunt. She lives in downtown Windsor.
Cogeco did their usual thing where they called her and "discussed" upgrading, and now she's paying a billion dollars for phone, TV and Internet service - all through Cogeco. The amount she apparently agreed to is something north of twenty percent of her total income - she's on a very fixed disability pension, and can't work for either mental or physical reasons (and she's well into retirement age, in any event). She'd never, ever notice the benefits of any of the upgrades, as she basically does web surfing exclusively and hasn't ever gone above 30GB of usage in her life.. it's enough to make me want to vomit, honestly. They KNEW, without any question, that she didn't need any of what was offered, given her past usage.
I want to get her the heck out of that contract right away, which I believe I'll be able to do under the circumstances.
What I'm asking for help with is: How can I replace her services? Start's an easy choice for phone and Internet and I'm very happy to get that rolling. What about television, though? I worry that if I move her over to Start, any of the TV options are going to want to charge her through the nose, and I'll be stuck.
Again, the service is really important for the lady. She's barely able to get out of her apartment ever, so Internet and TV is hugely critical. Equally, while she's able to carry on a conversation, she's nowhere near the level of being able to work things like Kodi or anything like that.
Thanks for the advice.
