I'm not sure if its my router (asus) or Start's DNS Servers causing my issue at this point.
What I do know is for work we use a citrix app for remote applications. The DNS entry for the URL to access it (which I won't post here for the time being) is a CNAME entry with a 600 TTL. Now the A record is only 5 TLL (stupidly low). I frequently get intermittent access issues as it cannot resolve the domain (citrix doesn't seem to re-query the dns after a failure and caches this until it times out). An nslookup that fails usually gets a valid result when I try a few seconds later.
When using the router's DNS, I've manually applied the start DNS servers as well as used start's DNS that's auto assigned as part of the DHCP config. I get the same issue in both cases.
I'm going to switch the DNS on my computer directly to start's DNS instead of having it go through my asus router, but wondering if anyone has an explanation for this?
Thanks in advance.
