I have a TC4350 modem.
I had some issues with internet speeds being unstable and there was intermittent packet loss. When looking at the modem stats the only out of spec thing was downstream power which was in 15-17dBmV range - which is too high. Upstream was fine.
So I've called up Start, Start arranged for cCable tech to come over. cCable tech has replaced a few jacks and pulled out an old splitter from the outside of the house.
He said that my downstream signal is in 4dBmV range. However - now my modem shows signals in between ~17 and 21 - so signal became stronger than before - which makes sense given that splitter was pulled out.
It hasn't been enough time for me to conclude if my internet is stable now, but numbers shown by modem are concerning. Unfortunately this modem doesn't show and SNR info.
Should I be looking into replacing the modem (it's rental) or is this a known feature of these?
Thanks!
