For the last few days, every night at 6 pm and 11 pm, channel 128 CTV CFTO displays error 4-44-821. Flipping channels does not fix it. I have also seen this error occasionally over the last few weeks. I don't see this on other channels. It's OK right now. Too many connections? Also experience a problem on channel 116 CBC Toronto - every few seconds it rewinds 5 seconds (but audio is continuous) and resumes normal video and audio for a few seconds and repeats. It's ok right now.

Good afternoon - I am getting some stuttering on the high-framerate channels. Really noticeable during last night's Leaf game. Behaviour is as follows: - tune to channel - for the first 30 seconds or so, it starts out good quality then switches to a better quality then to a great quality (normal, I've seen this before) - from then on, every 2-3 seconds I will get a noticeable blip - audio is not interrupted but video is. Really noticeable if you look at scrolling text at the bottom of the screen (during Sportscentre etc.). I never lose the feed or get anything scrambled and never lose audio, just blips/pauses in the feed then it catches up instantly. Almost seizure inducing....! I have the ADSL 50Meg service. Modem is bridged with a Google Home Wifi system. The "hub" that the STB is hooked into is hardwired into the primary hub that is bridged to the ADSL modem. Looking at the stats, maximum download speed is in the 18Mbit range to the STB when streaming on the higher framerate channels. I would love to try to pause the game for a minute then resume to see if that fixes the issue (kind of manual buffering) but of course, pausing TSN is not supported :). Anybody else with this problem? - anything I can try? Start has been rock solid for the 4 years I've been using them - nothing else seems to be going on with the network - nobody is steaming Netflix or anything at the same time for instance. I've also given the STB box priority on the network (if that does anything).

I was wondering if there is any new info on an upcoming Start Tv app for Apple Tv in particular. There has been some mention of an app for Roku, Chromecast etc. I recall hearing there may be some news on this shortly. Also wondering if Start plans on supporting sign in to the TSN and Sportsnet apps along with the crave app using the Start sign in info. Thanks

I'm missing SNH-E, SPH-O, TSN2H, TSN4H, and TSN5H. I've tried logging in and out, closing the app, factory reset. Still missing the above sports channels.

Is there any particular reason you didn't use at QWERTY keyboard on the tv box by default ? or was the a google thing And is there any colour/ video controls in the box . I notice theres a slight red pinkish hue to the channels. mostly shows in skin tones. Right now I'm comparing the hockey day in Canada Ota stream to the CBC stream Toronto. its definitely there. Made sure I had the same picture settings for both sources

Problem with Start's Online Payment Web Page

[Sorry, we are unable to process your transaction at this time.] Have you ever seen the above vague message ? Hi, The purpose of this topic is to try to gather some meta data about usage of the online payment page at the Start.ca website. https://www.start.ca/account/payment For an extended period (all of 2018, so far in 2019, as well as the first half of 2017), I have been experiencing failure when I try to make payments to Start at that page, even when using a credit card which worked fine for an even longer period further in the past (all of 2014, 2015, 2016, and the second half of 2017). If I call and present someone the same card over the phone which just failed online, and THEY manually enter the payment at THEIR console, it works - 100% of the time. So far, nobody at Start knows for sure why, and the problem persists for me.   Anyway, what I need from anyone willing to share, and who has been to that page and tried to make a payment, is some general info : Did the payment succeed or fail ? (either result is significant) What type of card did you use ? - Visa, MasterCard, Debit Visa, or Debit MasterCard. Which bank issued you the card ? What version of Windows is on the computer which you used ? Which web browser and which version of it did you use ? Were you running the computer wired or on WiFi ? Is your service with Start thru DSL, rCable, or cCable, etc ? What month and year did your experience happen ? If it was a failed attempt, did you contact Start about it ? If you contacted them, were they able to resolve the problem so that in future the web payment page worked for you ? Did you need to change how you did things, as part of a fix ?   Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer me info about your experiences at that page.

I installed the Start TV app on my Galaxy Tab but it will not pass video. The sound is ok but I get a black screen. When I installed the app, it said the app may not be optimized for the tablet. My iPad works fine. Is this a known issue ?

Smithsonian TV, is now available in Canada in free preview mode. Shouldn't be that hard to get its licensing and most other providers are already offering it. Will you be adding it too?

[TV] 30s Skip Restart From Beginning Issues When Restarting a Show

When restarting a show that is still currently broadcasting/recording, I can never seem to “catch-up to live” without it restarting from the beginning at some point. For example, The Masked Singer is on between 9 and 10 on Channel 183/Fox and I have it set to record. I “restarted” watching it at 9:22 or so, hoping to skip the commercials and eventually catch-up to live. After watching the first part of the show, I skipped through the ads, watched the 2nd portion, then attempted to skip through the 2nd round of ads, but It keeps restarting from the beginning. I was about 12m in when this happened. No amount of skipping/fast forwarding will let me get back to where I was, while the show is still broadcasting/recording. It’s done this everytime I’ve tried, regardless of show or channel since I subscribed to Start.tv in December. I ended up abandoning watching the show and waited for it to finish recording at 10. Watching the recording works at this point and skipping ads works without issue. STB is current on firmware and earlier tonight I Force Stopped the app, cleared data and cache, rebooted the STB, then logged back in, so the STB had a “fresh start”. Is this normal behaviour? If so, it shouldn’t be...

I was wondering if I subscribed to the cravetv package thru Start, if it would allow me to watch the cravetv app on my apple tv. With bell I am able to log into the app using my bell login credentials. I do not currently see Start listed in the sign in choices.

Had to do a reset and now I can't get past the remote pairing BS this is really friggin annoying. Is there some way to reset the remote as it won't pair with it. And don't tell me to remove the damned batteries as I've already done this!!!. I can't seem to find the thread here where it shows how to change from IR mode to BT mode.
